Good morning, everybody, the Simple Handicap for Wednesday, August 28th. We made it to the end. The final team preview of the preview series today on the Dallas Cowboys. This is the last episode for previews, which will be uploaded to your feed. So if you want to listen to any other team, you can go back on the podcast feed and find those episodes. I want to ask something quickly before you get into the episode. If you have a second out of your morning or evening, depending when you were listening to this.

If you have a second out of your

0:21.1

morning or evening, depending when you were listening to this, if you've liked anything about

0:25.7

the previews, if you found some value in them, if you've enjoyed them in any way, would you

0:30.8

mind going down and leaving a rating on the podcast, especially so if you're listening on Apple

0:35.7

podcast or on Spotify? Helps me out a lot. Keep keeps the pod feed moving up to charts, gets me some more listeners. And more importantly, if you have an extra second on top of that and you want to leave a written review on Apple, it goes a long way to just reaffirm what I'm doing and lets me know that, hey, I'm saying the right things, or giving you the right info or giving you the right content, do you think is valuable too? And it helps out to show a lot, helps me out a lot too. So if you do have time in your morning or evening today when you're listening to this, to just hit pause and scroll down and leave a rating, it would go a long way and help me out quite a bit. So I would appreciate that very much if you are able to do so. Let's get on to it. Let's talk about the Dallas

1:12.3

Cowboys. For me, the Cowboys are a fade. I like their unders on the team total. I like them to miss the playoffs. We released it on the service as well. Part of that is because I really like Philly. The team likes Philadelphia as well, and so that led to a pretty easy decision

1:27.8

releasing the Cowboys Under. To me, this is just a team that can go wrong so quickly. And I think

1:33.6

that's kind of what I'm holding on to when I look at this. It's also a team that's incredibly top-heavy

1:38.9

and is just a down year. I never want to root for injuries, but you can't help but notice. You get one

1:46.3

key guy go down and there's just no depth. I don't see a spot where there's a lot of youth

1:51.5

contributing. And this Cowboys team went into the offseason, according to Jerry Jones,

1:56.1

with the all-in mentality to get it done. There's another team in Texas that went all-in

2:00.4

into Houston Texans. The Dallas Cowboys did next to nothing. And so it's a roster that

2:05.1

was ultimately exposed at the end of last year, and based on their numbers, kind of

2:09.2

overperformed in a lot of ways that is now bringing back in largely the majority of the same

2:14.2

guys from last year, but I see a couple of holes here where things

2:18.3

get a little bit worse. So talking on the offense, signing CD-LAM was enormous. Now, he's

2:24.3

going to be good to go for week one. Perhaps there's a bit of a slow start. We've seen stars at

2:28.5

times who end up signing this late that are ending, holding out, kind of have a slow start.

2:33.2

But he is as valuable of a skill position player as there is to any offense in the NFL. He's going to be there. It's a big, big win for the Cowboys. You need it to have him there. Where I get concerned is what do you get it, like what is there behind him? You're putting a lot of trust in Brandon Cooks being the number two and being there all season. Jalen Tolbert is going into year three, still hasn't made that leap forward. Jalen Brooks is going into year two. Didn't show a whole lot last year to be optimistic about. Cavante Turpin has been in and out, a lot of skill, a lot of talent, but that's also another young guy that you're trusting takes a big leap. You're

3:08.3

needing a lot to come from these depth guys to have a relatively strong receiver core. And as it is
