The Dallas Mavericks win their first game one in the Jason Kidd era.

They do it despite relatively atrocious three-point shooting,

although they did turn it with a couple in the last few minutes of the fourth

quarter. Minnesota was very hot from three. For most of the game, they went cold a little bit late, but overall,

it doesn't show up in the scoreboard.

It was close.

To me, the Dallas Mavericks,

I don't want to say dominated this game,

but I thought they controlled it comfortably

and that was just masked by the difference in the three point

shooting. I agree with you overall and the three point shooting is of

course a huge factor in that and it ties in for me game ones are all about kind of

trying to figure out bigger picture things for the rest of the series while

acknowledging that circumstances can change.

And when we previewed this series on Monday, one of the things I talked about was how Luke Adonchich and Anthony Edwards were huge

matchup challenges for the other in part in ways that they had not experienced in their

previous match-ups as talented as their opponents work.

And how that bore out in game one

was that Anthony Edwards, you know, he wasn't as dominant

and he'll make more shots from two than he that he did in this one.

But maybe maybe we'll talk about that.
