Summary
Welcome, welcome, welcome to episode 292 of the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip! A real treat this week by way of writer and actor heavyweight DAISY HAGGARD!
A proper nice chat right here is your gift, as Pip is joined by the writer of and actor in Back To Life and a whole bunch more (including a voice stint in a Harry Potter film - the key to knowing if someone has just skimmed her IMDB page!), and they have a grand old time getting down to the business of acting, film, cinema, movie, the whole bit. From pitching the series Back To Life (involving pub antics), to her reaction to feedback in general, the importance of collaborators, the memorable moment she got the call to say the show was being picked up, the whirlwind LA journey within a journey to promote said show, the balance of work and life, her dad being in cult horror classic Blood On Satan’s Claw, Man Stroke Woman, Breeders and all that’s to come! Lovely stuff.

| 0:00.0 | Welcome, welcome, welcome. This is the distraction pieces podcast episode 294. Thank you for tuning in. |
| 0:07.0 | Before I get into it, I'm going to keep these intro and outro's brief because I gave you a bonus episode this week |
| 0:13.0 | and I need to comment on that because the reaction from you guys has been amazing. |
| 0:18.0 | Obviously the bonus episode is in conjunction with a charity called Stammer, which is one of the names of the British Stammer and association. |
| 0:26.0 | I've had a Stammer since I was about four years old when I almost drowned in France and that triggered it. |
| 0:33.0 | It's something that's really close to my heart and a lot of regular listeners who heard the Joe Gilgain episode this year or heard the King's speech episode |
| 0:43.0 | that I did at Christmas will know it's something that's been weirdly brought to the forefront in the last year or so because I'm working with Stammer. |
| 0:52.0 | That's brought its positives and its struggles. The reaction from you guys from this bonus episode where I talked to three of the most amazing people I've met, George Owen and Natalie. |
| 1:05.0 | The reaction has been amazing, so I just want to say thank you so much for that. If you didn't catch it, if you've got time, I'd really appreciate it. If you give it a listen. |
| 1:15.0 | Anyway, this week's podcast, I'm joined by Daisy Haggard and I was very excited about this. |
| 1:22.0 | This is one of those episodes that I watched a show and I've been the whole of Daisy's show back to life in one day. |
| 1:33.0 | I loved it. It's on I-Player still. As we were recording this, it was about to be taken off I-Player but it's been left on for a few more weeks due to popular demand. |
| 1:41.0 | I urge you if you haven't seen it to go and watch it. We talk about back to life a lot but there's not really any spoilers. There's just a lot of context. |
| 1:49.0 | I think, although we talk about it a lot, I don't think we talk about the director Chris Sweeney who I wanted to give a shout out in the intro because I'm again, he did an amazing job and I'm a fan of a lot of the stuff he's done. |
| 2:02.0 | We might have talked about it but I couldn't remember on the drive home I was thinking, did we get around to talk about that beast? |
| 2:10.0 | Yeah, there's a shout out. Anyway, I watched it in one day and as the credits were running of the last episode, I was online DMing Daisy to say, |
| 2:23.0 | can I speak to you from my podcast please and as you'll hear, there's a reason it was delayed and it's a beautiful one. |
| 2:32.0 | I took some life lessons from this conversation so you're going to enjoy it. I said, I won't ramble on too much. |
| 2:38.0 | Things I've got to tell you about is the Pod Bible podcast. It's been going crazy recently. I've recorded episodes with James A. Castor and Ed Gamble of Off Menu and Joe Wilkinson and David L slash Brian Gittins of Gossip Mungers. |
| 2:52.0 | The Pod Bible podcast comes out every Monday. It's 20 to 30 minutes long and it's interviews with your favourite podcasters, talk about their podcasts and the podcasts that they love. |
| 3:03.0 | So it's free. It's 20 minutes long. Add it to your weekly diet please. So there's that. I'll also tell you about patron.com slash groupiest pit where we've had poem of the month recently. |
| 3:15.0 | We're about to have a distraction pieces rewind. Yeah, there's bonus podcasts there and you get previews of all the guests and obviously speech development records.com. |
