is this. As much as everything that takes place in the Old Testament, whether it be in Genesis or Exodus or

Lovitticus, Deuteronomy, Numbers, Joshua, judges, as much as these things are about God

fulfilling his good and prosperous promises that he made to Israel. It is also about God

fulfilling his promise of just and terrible judgments to those who are

against him. It's not just that God is fulfilling his promise to give to Israel an inheritance

of a land flowing with milk and honey. It's not just gods, merely God's focus on bringing Israel

into the promised land and doing good things for them. It is also about God expelling and destroying

and putting to death at the edge of the sword all those wicked inhabitants of the land of Canaan

who were previously there. It's important that we

understand that. There are two things happening. God is fulfilling good promises for Israel,

and God is executing justice for all those pagan nations who have been wicked and rebellious

towards him. The reason why I want to drive that point home is this.

There is no nation like Israel today, including Israel. I would actually say especially Israel.

Israel today is further from Israel under the old covenant than most Western nations, such as the United States of America.

There is no nation today like Israel under the old covenant.

But there are many nations today like the Canaanites.

So what I'm saying is that God is not today fulfilling prophetic promises
