Semaphethy chapter 3, verses 14 through 16, that the church is the pillar and buttress, that is,

support, foundation, the rock of the truth.

That the church does not simply exist as a pillar and buttress of kindness and compassion.

Certainly, kindness and compassion should mark the people of God. But the church, it exists as a fortress.

When everything in our culture is being destroyed, when every single element of the truth is being toppled over, it's being defeated.

That as a last defense, that the church would be a pillar and buttress of the truth in a culture that says as pilot said to

Jesus what is truth in a culture that makes truth relative in a culture that emphasizes your

truth that the church would stand firm as the

pillar and the buttress of the universal, absolute, eternal truth of God. And that the church

would not bend.
