Jesus said, man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the

mouth of God. You're listening to Daily Truth. Our final qualification, well thought of

by outsiders. This means that an elder must have a good reputation with people outside the church.

Now, I'll just tell you right now, straight up, I've always wrestled with this one because I felt

like, I felt frustrated by this one for the longest time. I was like, this is just inconsistent,

and I feel like it's a little bit hypocritical. Paul? I know, I'm not going to put that on God. That's just straight up blasphemy. But, you know, I'll put it, I'll put it on Paul.

And that's getting cute because Paul is inspired by the Holy Spirit.

So that's, you know, don't do that.

I shouldn't do that.

But the point is, I've looked at Paul and I've just said, good reputation with outsiders,

seriously? good, you know, convenient for you because you're technically not first and foremost an elder, but you're first and foremost an apostle. So you don't actually have to abide by that.

Because you don't abide by that. Because you don't have a good reputation with outsiders, Paul.

If you had a good reputation with outsiders, you wouldn't be in prison all the time.

Right? I mean, if you had a good reputation with outsiders, why are you getting beat? Why are you getting flawed? Why are you getting thrown in jail? So what does that mean? Good reputation with outsiders. An elder should be recognized in the community as a man of moral character and proper conduct. His business dealings should be honest and right. Non-believers should not be able to bring the charge of hypocrisy. That's the key.

Hypocracy against a church leader. See, we will often be maligned by non-believers for our
