Jesus said, man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth

of God. You're listening to Daily Truth. So real saving faith requires knowledge and

assent. But if we only have those two key elements without the third that I'll mention here

in just a moment, that only really serves to help us graduate to the level of faith that is,

bivocally speaking, demonic. See, the book of James in the New Testament says that even the demons

believe. Demons have faith. What do they believe? If we look at the

context, they believe that God is one. James is saying to his audience that he's writing to,

you believe God is one? Good. But even the demons believe that. And the result of their belief is that

they shudder. They shrink back in fear. They tremble. Now, look, you don't

tremble at something that's not true. So the demons, they don't just have knowledge of the fact

that God is three eternal persons and yet one in essence and being. What's being said by James

is ultimately this. The demons have a better working trinitarian doctrine than the best living

scholars on earth today.

Demons have better doctrine and theology than you do, and me. So they know that God is three

eternal persons and that he is one. And they don't just know this because just knowing something,

if you don't agree that it's true, doesn't result in trembling. See, the demon shudder.

Because they know it and they have given,

not eagerly, not joyfully, not willingly, but they have given nonetheless because they must

their assent. They agree with what they know. See, the third and final component of true
