Jesus said, man cannot live on bread alone, but from every word that proceeds from the mouth of

God. You're listening to Daily Truth. We are surprised, so often surprised by our sin.

And what we're saying in essence is this. This is worldly remorse, right? We say,

I can't believe I did that. Remorse.

Now, resolve is, I'll never do it again. In my own effort, right, solar bootstrappia,

I'm going to pull myself up, buy my bootstraps, I'm going to grit my teeth, the sweat of my

brow, blood, sweat, and tears. I'm going to make sure that I never do this again. Now, in essence, what we're saying is this, I can't believe I did this,

a k.a. this is a fluke. This is a one-off. This is not a fair and accurate representation of who I am.

That's what we're saying. And the resolve, I'll never do this again, is to say, and I'll prove

by never doing it again. Whereas that's remorse and resolve. To realize and repent. So remorse and resolve marks

false repentance. True repentance is realize and repent. To realize and repent is to say,

what I've just done is ultimately not the problem. What I've just done is an exact representation of who I am. And I think of what the

prophet Nathan said to David. He tells him this parable of a man who had one little lamb.

And his children, it was like a pet to them. It would eat at their table. They loved this lamb.

And he had a neighbor who had tons of

livestock. And one day a traveler, a sojourner comes to stay with his neighbor and he wants to

exercise. His neighbor wants to exercise hospitality. But rather than killing one of his own lands,

of which he had many, he was a rich, wealthy man,
