That's why when things are not clear, one of the things that a godly and mature pastor will seek to do

is to exercise the authority of counsel rather than the authority of command.

Because counsel can be rejected. When a pastor gives you

his counsel, you can say thanks but no thanks. But when a command is given, it's given with a binding

quality. And now if it is not a command of scripture and the pastor is wrong, you must still resist it.
