You're listening to Daily Truth. When it comes to capital punishment, it's not even so much that we're saying that this is just.

Because the goal of certain civil codes and penalties for crimes is always restitution.

That's the goal.

So if someone steals, according to God god's law the punishment for theft is not that

you chop off one of their hands as pagan cultures and pagan countries do still to this day that's

actually a perversion of justice because what you've actually done is you've just taken from that

individual their ability to work and make the person they've stolen version of justice. Because what you've actually done is you've just taken from that individual

their ability to work and make the person they've stolen from whole to actually provide

restitution. Now in biblical law, the way to offer restitution, for instance, the crime of theft, is to pay back double what you stole.

Because the person not only needs to receive back what was taken, but there's also the sense

of that wealth, that capital, whatever it was, whether it was sheep or oxen, or whether it was

cash, gold,

that could have been invested, that could have been working for them, they could have been doing
