I think you have to figure out non-negotiable. If affection is a real non-negotiable for you, whether it's from your childhood,

whether it makes you feel not loved, you don't need to be with that person.

If it's something you can work through, work through it. But if true affection, I'm just using that as an example.

If that is a non-negotiable, stop trying to change that person. Like you need to find somebody that's affectionate.
