We are monitoring the speaker vote as it was taking place during the course of today's program.

But I wanted to start with a positive.

This was last night in the wake of the New Orleans terror attack.

They postponed the Sugar Bowl, which many of you know is one of the biggest events that takes place in New Orleans every year, if not the biggest.

Major college football game, last night's game, or yesterday afternoon's game, was played

between Georgia and Notre Dame.

This is what it sounded like as the entire stadium began to chant USA, USA, USA at the end of the national anthem.

And I'm going home

Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, yeah. And I understand it's a little bit difficult to hear it.

But you can hear at the end, the entire stadium in unison begins to chant.

At least many tens of thousands of people do USA, USA, USA.

It's a remarkable testament, I think, to the American spirit, to the spirit of all those fans that were there.

And certainly to the city of New Orleans, which has an indomitable spirit, more so than almost any

city in America. It's a fabulous place filled with fantastic people. Now, you know who didn't

think it was important to share that moment with the nation? ESPN. They cut the national anthem and the moment of silence as well as Notre Dame running on the

field with an American flag from their broadcast. They have been criticized for it. Do you know what

they said when asked why they couldn't show the national anthem,

the USA Chance, the moment of silence, or Notre Dame,

running on the field with the American flag?

They said there were timing issues.
