Summary

Get Out of Jail Free Card

Breaking news from the world of college football: University of Michigan offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore has been fired and faces serious criminal charges after an alleged violent incident involving a former subordinate. Clay details the shocking reports of Moore’s arrest and the potential arraignment, underscoring how this story could dominate national sports and news cycles.  From sports, the conversation pivots to legal and political battles in blue jurisdictions, focusing on the difficulty of securing grand jury indictments against high-profile Democrats like New York Attorney General Letitia James. Buck and Clay analyze why grand juries in deep-blue areas often refuse to indict, even in cases with clear evidence, and praise attorney Lindsay Halligan for her rare success in obtaining indictments against figures such as James Comey and Letitia James. They argue that partisan bias has fractured the justice system and propose reforms, including allowing defendants to move federal cases to their home states for fairer trials.

The War on Drugs

Escalating ttensions in the Caribbean as the United States seizes a Venezuelan oil tanker, signaling a major escalation in President Donald Trump’s push for regime change against Nicolás Maduro. The hosts detail how Venezuela’s economy—dependent on oil exports and narcotics—is collapsing under U.S. sanctions and military pressure, including 22 strikes on narco-trafficking boats resulting in 80 traffickers killed. They analyze Trump’s strategy, which includes tightening sanctions, seizing oil shipments, and possibly deploying targeted airstrikes or drone operations, while emphasizing that Maduro’s days in power appear numbered.

The discussion explores the geopolitical ripple effects, including Cuba’s vulnerability as it relies on Venezuelan oil and the broader implications for global energy markets. Buck argues that stabilizing Venezuela could significantly lower oil and gas prices, reducing shipping costs and easing inflation for American consumers. Clay highlights the irony of climate activists opposing U.S. energy production while forcing reliance on “dirty” foreign oil, and the hosts underscore how communism has turned a resource-rich nation into an economic disaster. They also touch on Chevron’s stake in Venezuelan assets and the Nobel Peace Prize awarded to an exiled Venezuelan dissident who credited Trump for supporting her escape.

Nerding Out with Ryan Girdusky

Ryan Girdusky, who shares exclusive insights from CDC birth data revealing a sharp decline in births to foreign-born mothers across 41 states. This trend suggests that mass deportations and self-deportation under President Donald Trump’s immigration policies are working, with an estimated 2 to 2.5 million illegal immigrants leaving the U.S. in 2025. Ryan explains how enforcement measures, combined with pending Supreme Court action on birthright citizenship, could further curb illegal immigration and end birth tourism in hotspots like New York, Miami, and California.

The discussion highlights the broader impact of immigration enforcement on housing affordability, noting that fewer illegal immigrants reduces demand for homes and rentals. Buck and Clay connect this to recent reports showing a 2.5% drop in home prices and four consecutive months of declining rental rates, signaling relief for young Americans seeking housing. Ryan also critiques outdated immigration laws prioritizing family reunification and urges reforms to strengthen merit-based entry. On the economic front, the trio evaluates Trump’s performance on affordability, praising lower gas prices and reshoring efforts while calling for strategic use of government contracts to boost domestic manufacturing.
