Good morning in the news this morning. A violent tornado touchdown in Jefferson City, Missouri,

causing heavy damage Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service. The service reported that it confirmed

a large and destructive tornado was observed over Jefferson City at about 1143 p.m. Wednesday,

moving northeast at about 40 miles per hour. The capital city has a population of about 40,000 and

is located 130 miles west of St. Louis. No fatalities have been reported, but Jefferson City Police Lieutenant David William said

that there have been multiple calls for people being trapped in their homes.

That was my second radio job was in Jefferson City, Missouri.

I lived there for a few years, and I remember one day in particular in the spring, I had to initiate the emergency alert system, I think four times in one.

Four times.

Yeah, because of tornado warnings.

I never saw one.

Huh.

But it's really active in that area for tornadoes.

And it was, you know, the guy that the guy gets this greenish hue it's

very strange but it wasn't uncommon now one never hit in Jefferson City that I never knew of but

this one was big and they were calling it I don't know if you have this information Kathy a wedge tornado

oh no what is that a wedge tornado is when the size of it is, it's wider than it is tall.

Oh, okay.

And so it was a really huge activity, really huge formation that came through.
