Good morning in the news this morning. Governor Tom Wolfe announced tighter COVID-19 restrictions Thursday

afternoon as the virus rages on across the Commonwealth. The following restrictions will take place at

1201 a.m. Saturday, December 12th and will last through 8 a.m. on Monday, January 4th, 2021. Indoor

dining is now prohibited. Outdoor dining, takeout food service and take out alcohol sales may continue.

Indoor operations at gyms is prohibited. Outdoor facilities and classes can continue, but all participants

must wear face coverings. No indoor gatherings of more than 10 people. Churches, synagogues, temples,

mosques, and other places of congregate worship are specifically excluded from the limitations,

but are strongly encouraged to find alternative methods of worship. No outdoor gatherings of more than 50

people, no in-person extracurricular activities are allowed. Now, all sports at K-12 levels

will be paused. So that includes public schools, non-public schools, private schools, club, travel,

recreational, intramural, intramural sports, all of them are paused.

So that means places like hair salons that are already operating at 50% will remain open.

arcades, casinos, and bowling alleys are prohibited from operation. Wolf moved to tighten restrictions after weeks of exploding case numbers and sharply rising hospitalizations and deaths.

So new restrictions come after Wolf himself tested positive for coronavirus on Tuesday and

revealed the diagnosis on Wednesday. He said Thursday he is feeling fine and that his most recent test was negative. He is currently awaiting the results of another test. I remember in the summertime thinking that this might be a likely scenario. But as things were going along, I started thinking, okay, well, maybe I was wrong. You know, I remember saying out loud that we'll probably get this big wave as people start to head inside and all this.
