Good morning in the news this morning. Philadelphia police say two men fired approximately 35 shots at a teenager in a killing that took another young life.

It happened around 3.30 Monday in the 100 block of West Wyoming Avenue in the city's Feltonville neighborhood.

Police say the 14-year-old male was struck at least 18 times throughout his body.

He was rushed to Temple University Hospital by medics where he died a short time later. He has not been identified.

Police said they found about 35 shell casings at the scene from two guns. Bullet holes could be seen in the

side of a right aid, which is not far from Roosevelt Boulevard. Police think the 14-year-old was waiting

for a bus to go home from school when he was shot. According to Philadelphia Police Chief

Inspector Scott Small, the teen appears to be the intended

target.

All homicides are tragic, of course, but for someone to be as young as 14 years old, it's a real

tragedy, said Small.

Why, you know, someone would be targeted to be riddled by bullets completely like that

at 14 years old.

Something really messed up is going on. It's unbelievable.

I was watching a feature about this, excuse me, after school arts and crafting that kids are doing

and they're talking about that that area and that event is a respite from the gunfire and all the stuff they hear

and how they you know that their their hopes are to make it out and and you know everyone every one

of them had a story about someone either a family member or a friend uh being the victim of gun violence
