A shooting at a Walmart in Virginia on Tuesday night left seven people dead, including the shooter police said. Officers responding to a report of a shooting in Chesapeake found several victims as they swept through the store over a course of about 40 minutes. Rescue teams were sent in to tend to the wounded. It was the second high profile shooting in a handful of days. A person to open fire at a gay nightclub in Colorado late Saturday, killing five people and wounding 17.

The shootings come in a year when the country was shaken by the deaths of 21 when a gunman stormed in elementary school in Uvaldi, Texas.

Tuesday's shooting also brought back memories of another Walmart in 2019 when a gunman police say was targeting

Mexicans open fire at a store in El Paso and killed 22 people. Police believe there was one shooter

at the Walmart in Virginia and he is dead. The shooting apparently stopped when police arrived at

the store in Chesapeake, which is Virginia's second largest city and lies next to the seaside communities of Norfolk and Virginia Beach.

A shooting in Philadelphia's East Germantown section left a teenager dead and another injured on Tuesday night.

Police say two suspects fired at least 28 shots near a takeout restaurant in the 6200 block of Worcester Street at 630.

A 16-year-old male was shot in the chin and the arm. He was taken to the hospital and placed in stable condition. Two blocks away, police found a 17-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the torso. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. Police are looking for at least two gunmen wearing gray hoodies. Employees of the takeout restaurant were not hurt even though some of the gunfire went inside.

Travel experts warn this Thanksgiving will be packed on the roads in the air and on the train.

AAA manager of public and government affairs, Yana Tidwellwell says this is the pent-up demand to travel.
