Good morning in the news this morning.

Philadelphia police have arrested a woman in connection with the death of her 32-year-old daughter last year, according to Philadelphia police.

63-year-old Yelena Nez Hikhov Skaya is charged with third-degree murder, false reporting, and drug delivery resulting in death.

Her daughter, Yulia, who was a quadriplegic, died at their home on the 9600 block of Bustleton Avenue on December 17, 2018.

Yelena was arrested over the weekend. The cause, the official cause of death was determined to be

drug intoxication and the manner to be homicide. Investigators say Yelena gave Yulia a legal

dose of medication and alcohol. Neighbors say they can't imagine how difficult it is to care for a 32-year-old quadriplegic,

but they also can't imagine it driving someone to murder their own daughter.

Neighbors also say it was normal to hear Julia yelling in her mentally disabled state.

Yelena has a preliminary hearing on December 4th.

The Taliban said they freed on Tuesday an American and an Australian

hostage held since 2016 in exchange for three top Taliban figures who were released by

the Kabul government and flown to Afghanistan the previous day. The hostages, American,

Kevin King and Australian Timothy Weeks were released in Southerns of Bull Providence,

ending there more than three years in captivity.

It wasn't immediately known if the two hostages, both professors at the American University of Kabul,

were handed over to Afghan government representatives, intermediaries, or U.S. forces.
