In the news this morning, the Montgomery County Office of Public Health said they will now vote today at noon on whether to start two weeks of virtual-only school beginning on November 23rd.

The vote was originally scheduled for Thursday morning, but the lengthy contentious public meeting pushed the vote to today.

If they vote to do so, all schools, through 12 in the county would go 100% virtual,

with the exception that hybrid learning would resume on December 6th.

Did you watch any of that video? Oh my God, there were people crying and stuff like that.

I know. Yeah.

On Thursday, health officials held a Zoom call that allowed for public comment. More than 500

participants tuned in to watch. During the more

than two-hour public comment portion of the meeting, dozens of parents were begging health

officials to allow school districts to make their own decision. Some parents argue that COVID

hasn't rampantly spread between school students and the drawbacks are more severe than the

advantages. One Montgomery County school district isn't waiting for this afternoon's

vote. The Methacton School District alerted parents that all students will shift to virtual learning

starting on Monday and continuing through December 6th. On a personal note, we're lucky we've

remained virtual this whole time. And I live in Montgomery County. And your kids are doing okay,

right? They're doing good. They're doing fine. I come home. They're sitting at the table, at the kitchen table, and they're doing their work, and they stay until school sessions out. And so they've adjusted, you know, it took a little while to get up to speed. So when they're in virtual school, Do you have to talk to them? Do I have to talk to? No. No, no, no, no, no, no. Of course not.

It's like they're not even there.
