Good morning in the news this morning.

Former President Jimmy Carter was hospitalized Monday night in Atlanta. His spokesperson said the official Carter Foundation said in a tweet that the 95-year-old is at Emory University Hospital for a procedure to relieve pressure on his brain caused by bleeding due to his recent falls. The procedure is scheduled for Tuesday morning. The statement said Carter's wife, Rosalyn, is with him at the

hospital and he's resting comfortably, his spokesperson said. Carter is the oldest surviving president.

He was hospitalized twice in October for falls, including one at his Georgia home, in which he

sustained a minor fracture to his pelvis in May. He underwent surgery after falling and breaking

his hip while leaving for a hunting trip. He also received

a dire cancer diagnosis in 2015 but survived and has since said that he's cancer-free. Nearly four

decades after he left office, the nation's oldest ever living ex-president still teaches Sunday

school roughly twice a month in his tiny hometown of plains in southwest Georgia. So he is going to

undergo this surgery

to relieve pressure from his brain and that happens today. It's wild you survive cancer and yet a

fall might take you out. Right, right. Emery's supposed to be one of the best. Yeah, they said he's,

he's at the best place and probably has the best doctors working on him. So 95 years old, though,

that's, you know, anything at that age is risky. And really, we talked about it before. That's why they, you know, they ask you in the hospital, have you fallen down recently? Or they, you know, they have to be aware of this stuff because, yeah, a simple fall can exacerbate issues you have or create new issues. Yeah, so we'll see what happens. We'll keep you updated if we hear anything this morning.

A slight odor could be still detected in the air Tuesday morning after it was discovered

that a petroleum-based product had been leaking from a Sonoco pumping station Monday night.

The discovery came hours after residents across the immediate region reported a mysterious odor in Middletown township, Delaware County.
