In the news this morning, a 65-year-old man was shot and killed outside a mosque in Delaware

County on Sunday night. Police say they were called to the scene just after 745 on South 69th Street

and Walnut Streets in Upper Darby. At the scene, a man was found shot in the parking lot behind

the upper Darby Islamic Center. Investigators believe a suspect was attempting to carjack the

victim when the shooting took place. Officers later recovered.

The car connected to the incident on Webster and South Cecil Streets in West Philadelphia.

A phone was also recovered in a storm drain on South Cecil Street and Washington Avenue.

Officials have yet to release the victim's identity. They say the man came to the mosque to pray.

Officers are still investigating this incident at two separate scenes. Authorities did say that there's

no threat to the public at this time, but anyone with information is asked to contact the

Upper Darby Police Department. Nearly three months before Robert Card tore through a bar and

a bowling alley in rural Maine last week, killing 18 and injuring 13.

He tried to buy a silencer for a rifle at a local firearm store. The owner said Saturday.

The device was shipped to the local gun dealer. Card had to fill out an application which asked if he had ever been committed to a mental institution.

Card checked yes. His attempt to purchase the silencer was then denied. Card was found dead Friday night from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after a 48-hour man-hunt for the mass shooter. Yesterday's tributes continued as more than a thousand people gathered for a community vigil. The victims' names were read aloud. The victims range in age from 14 to 76 years old. The scariest thing about Halloween this year may be inflation.

Over 70% of Americans say they're celebrating Halloween,

but they need to be prepared to spend more on spooky season this year.
