Good morning. In the news this morning, an 8-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were shot and killed in Trenton, late Tuesday night. Police said the shooting happened at about 1030 at the home on the 200 block of Mulberry Street. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office said preliminary information is that a suspect shot into the second floor of a home hitting the siblings. Heavily armed officers were seen along with a canine unit searching an area near the home where the shooting happened.

The motive for the shooting is not yet known.

Authorities expect to be able to release more information about the shooting today.

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police are investigating the shooting.

The rate of COVID-19 infections has risen enough in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut to require those state

residents to quarantine if they travel to New York.

But Governor Andrew Cuomo says New York won't enforce the rules against those residents.

New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut announced the joint travel advisory this summer at a time

when the Northeast was seeing relatively low rates of infections, while other parts of the

country saw spikes.

But the governor said Tuesday he doesn't expect residents from Connecticut, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania to follow New York's rule requiring self-quarantine for 14 days for states

on the list, which does include Delaware.

There is no practical way to quarantine New York from

New Jersey and Connecticut. He told reporters in a conference call yesterday, there are just too many

interchanges. There are too many interconnections. There are too many people who live in one place

and work in the other. It would be a disastrous effect on the economy. New Jersey Governor,

Phil Murphy, said he's urging all of his residents to avoid unnecessary or non-essential travel between states at this time. Kathy, I saw a movie Age of Ultron where they lifted an entire city up. Perhaps if they were to do that, right? Yeah, let's hear this out. I mean, that way you're talking about too many thoroughfares that feed into New York. You might want to lift the state up.
