Good morning in the news this morning.

Five people were injured in what appears to be a drive-by shooting in Queen Village on Thursday night, according to Philadelphia Police. Authorities said real-time crime cameras recorded a car, pulling up at 5th in Carpenter Streets at about 11.55 p.m. The driver and a passenger exited the vehicle and opened fire into a courtyard. Some of the victims reported reportedly returned fire. At least 17 shell casings

were found at the scene. Police said five victims suffered various leg and arm injuries. They

were able to tell authorities at the hospital that they were outside playing dice when the gunfire

began. The victims range in age from 19 to 57 years old. Police are searching for an older

model, dark colored car that fled the scene.

A middle school teacher in Drexel Hill was placed on administrative leave in the wake of a racially charged altercation involving a parent in the school parking lot on Thursday.

The teacher said the incident followed a minor car accident in the parking lot at Drexel Hill Middle School as they were dropping

off their child. The teacher came out from behind the truck several times making racial and other

derogatory remarks to the parent. The school says the teacher has been placed on administrative leave

pending further investigation. The parent commends the district on how they are handling everything,

adding that one teacher does not represent the entire school.

Tip-top poultry is expanding a recall for some of its ready-to-eat poultry products that may be contaminated with listeria.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture says that the frozen, cooked, diced, or shredded products were made between January 21st and September 24th and fall under the Class 1 recall.

A Class 1 is described as a health hazard situation where there is reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death.
