Good morning in the news this morning.

A delegation from FIFA and U.S. soccer arrived in Philadelphia on Wednesday as Philadelphia vise to bring the World Cup to the city in 2026.

Chearing fans stood along the driving route to the stadium complex and then welcomed the delegation to Lincoln Financial Field.

Mayor Jim Kenney, Eagle's CEO, Jeffrey Lurie, and Eagles President Dom Smolensky greeted the delegation at the stadium, which would serve as the prime venue.

A 24-person delegation is evaluating 17 U.S. cities to host matches for the 26 FIFA World Cup, which would also have sites in Canada and Mexico.

Ten U.S. cities will be selected. Boston, Orlando, and Nashville are some of the other cities that are being considered.

You think it's a negative that some soccer fans just beat a guy to death at pets?

Not a good sign.

If anything like that actually weighs into a decision like this?

You know, that's a good point.

On the other side, I was reading an article today that the fact that this is the city of Comcast's home office and location could figure favorably into the decision.

But you're right, Preston.

That's a black eye on them.

It is unclear what the exact match schedule would be, but every potential host city was asked to be prepared to host five to six matches over a two-week period.

Big name athletes like Julian Zach Ertz, Carly Lloyd, and Heather Mitz are some of the honorary

co-chairs encouraging FIFA to select the city of brotherly love.

One of the biggest messages from organizers is that Philadelphia has hosted a number of large-scale

national and international events over the last few decades.
