All right, today is Monday. It is the 18th day of September. Good morning, Kathy.

Good morning in the news this morning. Pennsylvania State Police

Troopers are searching for nine teens who escaped from a secure juvenile treatment and detention

facility in Berks County on Sunday night. It happened sometime between 8 p.m. at the Abraxas Academy

near Morgantown. According to state police, there was a riot at the facility located on Academy Drive.

Police say the teens worked together to overpower two female employees and take their keys.

The teens then got out by going under a fence.

They tried to steal a car a few miles away, but the homeowner called police after the alarm

went off.

State and local law enforcement responded to the scene and placed the juvenile detention center

under control.

The escaped teens are not wearing their uniforms,

police say they were just in white or gray shirts or tank tops and boxer shorts.

The Twin Valley School District says all schools and offices will be closed on Monday out of an abundance of caution.

Monday night's board meeting also will be canceled and will be rescheduled because of this.

State police say anyone in the area of interstate 176 and Route 10 should be vigilant.
