In the news this morning, Philadelphia police are investigating a fatal assault near Pat's King of Stakes in South Philadelphia. According to police, the incident began at about

225 a.m. on the 1,300 block of East Paschunk Avenue. I didn't realize they're open that late.

Yeah. They don't close. They are 24 hours. Are they 24 hours? Really? Seven days a week.

Wow. They never close. Are the others? Yeah. Gino's is. He knows his too? Yeah. Okay. Police say an argument escalated quickly into a fight and may have involved a group of at least 10 soccer fans from out of town against a group of five, including the victim. The group allegedly jumped on a 28-year-old victim who fell on the ground and started punching and kicking him, police said the victim died due to his injuries sustained in the assault. Small said the people involved may have been drinking. Sometimes when alcohol is involved,

there are fights. Normally, these are well-run businesses that are quiet and safe. People just come out

here for a good steak sandwich. However, once in a while you get fights that

escalate into violence, Small said. In July, 22-year-old David Padro from the 2700 block of

Federal Street in Camden, New Jersey was shot in the back following a fight at Pat Stakes.

Yeah, I was reading some of the details about this. I mean, they beat this guy to death. Steve,

they were using trash can lid and kicking this person.

Some witnesses were saying, I mean, they just pummeled this person to death.

People don't realize how essentially fragile we are, you know, and maybe you see it in a movie

and think you can beat someone with a garbage can and it's just going to be a thumping.

But here you have the obvious proof that you can kill someone.

So they said they were wearing these yellow soccer jerseys.

And I was trying to think, I don't know soccer teams, colors and jerseys or anything like that.
