Good morning in the news this morning.

Rapper P&B Rock, a well-known hip-hop artist from Philadelphia,

was fatally shot Monday afternoon during a robbery at Rosco's Chicken and Waffles in South Los Angeles

police sources told ABC News he was 30 years old. Although the Los Angeles Police Department

did not officially name the victim sources at the LAPD told ABC News on Monday evening

that the rapper whose legal name is Rakeem Hashim Allen was the victim seen in social media videos of the incident captured by witnesses.

Alan grew up in the Germantown section of Philadelphia. He used the name at P&B as an acronym for the intersection of Pestorius and Bainton Streets.

The rapper performed one of his last shows at the Fillmore in December. He called it a Philly Homecoming. Now the sign outside of the venue reads RIP P&B Rock. Police said they received a call about a shooting at 1.23 p.m. and found a male victim with gunshot wounds. He was transported to an area hospital. The victim and his girlfriend were eating at the restaurant when, according to LAPD,

they were approached by at least one suspect who pulled a firearm demanding property.

The suspect shot the victim multiple times, removed property, and left in a getaway car,

according to police.

Police said that they are examining surveillance video to identify potential suspects.

So he was murdered for a robbery?

Yeah, they said they're looking into whether or not he had posted something on social media and people knew he was there.

So if he was targeted or not, I'm not sure, but police said they are looking into it.
