I would like to expand a little bit on Steve's adventure this morning. Oh, slash last night. I'll take it from the beginning. Yes. One o'clock in the morning, one 15 in the morning. You know, I'm there. Oh, no. The chirp. The chirp. Yeah.

And in our house, I think in most houses, the nature of the frequency of that chirp has a ricocheting effect.

Yes.

So isolating.

You can't find it. And you have multiple smoke detectors that with the batteries need to be replaced.

And so, pik.

Yep.

And I have my kit ready to go. I have my battery caddy, a case that has all my double A batteries ready to go. And I have my, uh, kitchen ladder ready to go. And I run and gun. And my whole idea is, don't let it wake up, Claire, you know, see if I can, nip it in the bud the bud and so I'm going to do it I'm going to be the good husband

I'm going to run out and just replace it I'm pretty good with finding it I'm

my ability to hear and locate echo locate is good go to the first place I'm sure

it is gotta be this and I replace it yep again. Yeah. Again. Come on. I'm like,

holy Christ. All right. So hang on. You, you stay on the second floor. No, I went down to...

No, no, no, no. You sleep on the second floor. She has the third floor. She has the third floor.

It's all hardwood. All hardwood. It just echoes all over the place. The first one you change is where? Bottom of the steps, living room. Okay. At the bottom of the steps. Right by the first door. That's where I'm hearing it. Okay. So I go down. Replace it. Put it back up. And I'm like, oh, all right. Okay, maybe I'm off my game. Maybe this, not my night. You know, they say, all right, I'll go to the upstairs. It has to be in the same area. Upstairs, second floor. Okay. And now the thing is, as you're taking out the batteries with these things, with the smoke detectors, there's six double A's. And you can still have two double A's in there and it'll still beep because it's retaining a charge regardless. So it gets it down low and that's how it works. So the only way to know that it's the one is you take out all the batteries, give it a second or two and it won't beep. So like, okay, I replace the batteries in that one. By the way, I just replenish my battery caddy with a whole bunch of AA batteries. So, okay, got it. And so I'm putting the ladder away and the whole thing, and I'm going to my bedroom. And I'm like, oh, no. And so then up to the top of the steps,res you know uh on the third floor but it's so clearly

not there on the third floor and i'm hearing again where i thought it was before so i'm literally

going around and i'm unplugging and i'm keeping the batteries out of them as i'm doing it right you have

to do that right you have to do that nick at one point I took one with the batteries into, with it, into the closet and closed the door and put it to my ear. And like, am I so out of it this morning that I can't, so I'm literally in the clothes closet, in the coat closet, on the main floor, holding up the smoke detector to my ear. What is your mood at this point? Furious. Seathing furious. Hey, you know what I find? What helps me personally, or at least I think does, is if when you're trying to locate where it is and you're waiting in between those beats and I'm standing up right now is to slightly crouch down you have to
