We'll begin with gun violence in Philadelphia.

It's surging at a record of pace as police investigate more shootings.

It took place on Tuesday night since 2 p.m. 11 people had been shot, including three children.

Police say one man died, four others are injured after a gunman inside a white van opened fire on a group of people.

It happened around 4 p.m. at 30th in Cumberland streets in the city's Strawberry Mansion section.

Five victims between 15 and 24 years old were injured in the shooting.

Police say an 18-year-old man was shot twice in the head.

He died later at the hospital.

It's terrible. A 15-year-old boy was shot in the right leg. He is listed in serious condition at an area hospital. A 24-year-old man, a 20-year-old man and 21-year-old were all injured in the gunfire.

No immediate word on the conditions of the three victims.

The deadline came and went, and the three homeless encampments across Philadelphia remain along the Ben Franklin Parkway, the Azalea Garden,

and in front of Housing Authority on Ridge Avenue. Mayor Jim Kenney said that there was never a

deadline per se, but rather a 30-day notice to leave on August 18th. And on Monday, he said in a statement

after several weeks of face-to-face discussions and after more than two months of

concerted efforts by our administration, I have come to the conclusion that further negotiations would

be fruitless. He expressed his frustration saying we agreed to at least 20 different requests to the

group and their response is unless we meet every demand, they will stay forever. The city cited health and sanitation reasons for removal and safety with acts of violence
