But also he's been behind the camera for so many great

movies, 127 hours. Steve Jobs, Kathy's one of her all-time favorite movie, Slumdog Millionaire.

Very nice to be back, actually. I had such a muscle memory returning to the studio. It was like, I'd never been away. That's fantastic. So I have to ask, all right, with T2, at what point did people start to demand that you have a follow-up to that train spotting? I mean, at some point rumblings, you might start, hear them, and then, you know, I'll set that aside. But when did you first hear that people wanted another film? They were kind of like, I'd love to pretend it was a clamour from them all demanding it, but it wasn't. It was like more that the affection people had for the original. You know, they'd talk to you in the street about the characters in detail. And, you know, we never remember characters' names from movies,

not really, not unless they're titular like Homer and Louise or, or maybe Jack and Rolls

from Titanic, you'd remember. But you always think of the actor, but people are talking to you in the

street about rent and Spud, Begby, like they were still with us, you know? And of course,

you begin to think maybe they

are, and maybe they can be. And we tried 10 years after, and it felt like not enough time had

passed. It felt like the same film again. I can see that. I mean, because the, the, I love

the movie. When I first saw it, it was a revelation to me, train spotting, when it first came out.

It was just so kinetic and visually.

You had this group of people that were deplorable in many ways, and yet admirable in ways, and they were real.

A lot of people dismiss it as, oh, it's a heroin movie, but it's not.

It's a friendship movie with heroin as a component. But I think, yeah, 10 years might have been, would it seem like just a retelling and a refurbishing of the original material. And so what made you decide at that point if it wasn't right? It's also 10 years is not that telling on an actor's face yeah yeah

because they are amazing they have a bit of the old kind of dorry and gray about them they can

they kind of live timelessly in a way but 20 years is different it's like a high school reunion so my

10 year reunion it was pretty much the same party as 10 years before absolutely 20 years later it's
