Good morning. In the news this morning, temperatures are expected to rise to extreme levels over the next few days.

Officials are warning residents to stay hydrated and in places with filtered air conditioning to avoid heat exhaustion.

A heat health emergency issued by the city of Philadelphia begins at 9 a.m. today and will remain in place until 8 o'clock on Saturday.

City officials say this may be extended if the forecast worsened.

So today is expected to be in the mid-90s with the peak heat index of 103 degrees.

This is wild because I walked out the house this morning, Kathy, I was saying this depressed.

It was just like, wham, you got that whole heat and humidity hitting you right at the same time.

And last, I went outside last night. I had to put something in my car and it was beautiful. I agree. I sat outside for a little while. I dare I say the word lovely. It was. I think the same thing's going to happen tonight. I think it'll be nice. Well, I mean, listen, we're going to get some thunderstorms. We're going to cool some things off.

But, like, if the thunderstorm's clear, yeah, I think we're getting like another crisp night. The humidity is not going to leave until Sunday. Should I keep my snow shovel out? Just in case? No, no, no, no, no. You can put that away. All right, all right. I didn't know. So a few thunderstorms with severe weather risks are likely during the afternoon.
