Good morning in the news this morning in earthquake, with a preliminary magnitude of 7.8 struck off the coast of Alaska early Wednesday morning. The earthquake was centered 60 miles south, southeast of Perryville, Alaska, according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The quake is considered shallow at about six miles deep. shallow earthquakes often cause the most damage compared to the ones that are deeper regardless of the strength.

A tsunami warning was issued following the earthquake.

Sirens could be heard blaring in videos posted on social media as residents heated warnings

to evacuate.

Did you say shallow or Shiloh, Kathy?

Same word.

Shai Shas, Shah, shai, lo.

The warning was an effect for South Alaska and the Alaska Peninsula, Pacific Coast, from Kennedy

entrance to Unimac Pass, according to the tsunami warning center.

But all tsunami warnings and advisories were canceled early Wednesday morning,

according to the National Weather Service.

Kathy, when I was at, so my wife and I went to Alaska and basically our delayed honeymoon,

went to Anchorage and Seward and Seward after the Good Friday earthquake, which was an 8.6,

I think.

A tsunami came roaring into that harbor.

And even this is just years ago, this is how long after it, the wood up to a certain level, you can see it all the way around in the harbor valley is petrified.

Wasn't it like the 1950s, right?

Early 60s or something? I'm not exactly sure. So you could see the line where came up?
