Five people have now been confirmed dead, and two children remain missing after a flash flood, swamped the news this morning. Five people have now been confirmed dead and two children remain

missing after a flash flood swamped the Bucks County Road on Saturday evening. The missing

children include a nine-month-old boy and a two-year-old girl. Officials in Bucks County's

Makefield Township said torrential rains occurred at about 5.30 Saturday in the Washington

crossing area. In a news conference on Sunday afternoon,

Upper Meekfield Fire Chief Tim Brewer said the children were part of a family visiting from Charleston,

South Carolina. They were on their way to a barbecue when they became trapped in the flash flood.

The father and grandmother of the family managed to escape with a four-year-old son. The mother

took the two younger children.

However, officials said the mother and the two missing children were swept away by the flood waters.

Of the seven people initially reported missing after the flood, five have been recovered.

The mother is among the bodies that were found.

We continue to look for the two children.

We are not going to give up, regardless, Brewer said, at Sunday's press conference. The area got six and a half to seven inches of rain in 45 minutes on Saturday. It's astonishing. Overall, eight people were rescued from cars and two from a creek over the weekend. Three vehicles were swept away and later located. No one was found inside of them. One of the vehicles was found a mile and a half from where it entered the creek. On behalf of more than 13 million Pennsylvanians, I want Bucks County to know that we are here with you. We are praying with you and we will continue to do everything in our power to lift you up, said Governor Josh Shapiro. They were talking to some lifelong residents in that area who said they had never, ever seen conditions like that. Well, I mean,

that's that road, River Road is prone to flooding. I mean, and it floods all the time. The houses

along there. I had friends that lived there in high school and their houses were flooding all of the

time. But, and then this flash flood, you know, it happens. But yeah, they're saying this was like
