Good morning in the news this morning.

A tropical storm warning was issued for parts of New Jersey and a flash flood watch is in effect for most of the areas. Severe weather from tropical

storm, Elsa spurred tornado warnings in southern Delaware, early Friday as the system moved

over the mid-Atlantic states and into the northeastern United States. It was not immediately clear

weather or tornado touched down. The National Hurricane Center said at 2 a.m.

that Elsa had maximum sustained winds of 50 miles per hour

and was located about 100 miles southwest of Atlantic City.

The track shifted slightly eastward, meaning that the farther west you are,

the rain amounts will be less.

Elsa is on its way out, so we will see sunshine by mid-morning, but another round of

strong-to-severe thunderstorms are possible for later today. Fans will be banned from Tokyo

area, stadiums and arenas when the Olympics begin in two weeks. The city's governor said Thursday

after meeting with organizers of the pandemic postponed games. That means the Olympics will be a largely TV event only.
