Tuesday is 20th day of June. Good morning, Kathy. Good morning. In the news this morning,

Philadelphia police are investigating two separate shootings that they believe stem from parties at Airbnb properties in the city. The first shooting happened in Kensington

at about 10 p.m. Monday evening. Police say between 50 to 100 people, many of them juveniles, were

at a party at what appeared to be an Airbnb property on Ember Street and Susquehanna Avenue. Shell

casings were found outside.

An 18-year-old victim was believed to have been at the Airbnb property before being shot.

He was taken to the hospital in critical but stable condition. Police are now trying to determine

who actually rented the property. Wasn't a, we had a story about Airbnb. I think you did about them

clamping down on allowing these party properties.

Yeah, they mentioned that in this, actually. It's going to be hard for them to do that.

Yeah, it's not, yeah, it's not full proof. The second shooting happened two hours later at 1150 Monday evening in Strawberry Mansion.

Police were called for a large crowd at the property on

North 29th Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue. Police say there were dozens of people inside

and outside the Airbnb property, many of them underage. And then if you continue to have,

obviously, you know, properties get trashed and things like that, but if you start having

shootings and if you start getting killed, I wonder how tough it's going to be for Airbnb to exist if, you know, lawsuits start popping up and things like that.

Well, there's only so far you can distance yourself from this.

And anybody who has retained legal counsel is going to say go after Airbnb.

Yeah.

The only thing is, though, I mean, we hear this because, yes, there's a shooting and obviously this should not be happening. But think about all the other rentals that go just fine. Yeah. I know. I know. I'm just saying, you know, when you have a handful of high profile things and people are injured or killed, then, you know, sometimes it's a matter of time before something gets shut down.
