Good morning in the news this morning.

John Fetterman will win the Pennsylvania Democratic Senate primary ABC News projects,

capping a bizarre final few days of the campaign after the lieutenant governor suffered a stroke

last week. Fetterman checked into a hospital in Lancaster on Friday as he was on his way to a campaign

event. He said that his stroke was caused by an atrial fibrillation, a type of irregular

heartbeat that could potentially be serious, but is treatable.

He has been in the hospital ever since, and he underwent a successful nearly three-hour

surgery on Tuesday to implant a pacemaker that includes a defibrillator.

Defibrillator. While the hospital stay injected a level of uncertainty into the race,

Federman had long been the frontrunner holding a steady polling lead over U.S. representative

Connor Lamb and state representative Malcolm Kenyatta.

It's interesting we think two heart incidents right up against the election.

I know.

It is unique.

Well, and I was wondering why they

came out with the news yesterday. It like, it broke at like 3.30, 345. I'm like, why didn't you wait until the end of the day? Well, yeah, well, they were sitting on it a little bit. But I mean, still, you know, it is what it is. And the guy, the guy seems, you know, fine. Fetterman is difficult to pin down politically and looks nothing like a traditional politician,

something that set him apart from his primary opponents.

He stands at six foot, eight inches, and better known for wearing shorts and hoodies than ties

and suits.
