Good morning in the news this morning.

An emergency meeting was held in residents from across Philadelphia

met Wednesday evening to air concerns over the lack of enforcement of illegal ATV and dirt bike riders.

The Queen Village Neighbors Association hosted the event. Philadelphia Deputy Commissioner Joe Dale says so far this year they've confiscated more than 200 of the illegal vehicles.

But he adds that they can

only pursue riders under extreme circumstances. First assistant district attorney Robert

Listenby says punishment reforms need to be made in order to prosecute those caught. The executive

director of the Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association says this is an issue that needs to be cleaned

up before we bring our guests back

to the city. The tipping point for many residents came during the pandemic. Normally riders are more

prevalent in the summer, but the pandemic created a time for them to come out more often and

with less traffic on the roadways. It used to be completely pressing. You remember this,

the days of many bikes or any vehicle like this.

You would like, you're going to take that out on the regular road. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. And these, it's, it's loud. It can scare the hell out of you when they come by. And I think this group, though, it's not just these, it's not just people riding these bikes. Like they're becoming violent. They're gangs.

They're gangs and, yeah.

It's not just people who have bikes.

Okay.
