Good morning to at least 40 people died when an airflot airline airliner burst into flames

while making an emergency landing in Moscow's Cherametteov Airport on Sunday.

A terrifying video.

Two children were among the dead and multiple others were injured.

Video shot from inside the airport terminal showed large flames, billowing black smoke coming from the plane is landed.

Later videos showed a distinct trail of flames on the tarmac behind the plane,

presumably from fuel that leaked out of the Sequoie SSJ 100 regional jet as it slowed to a stop.

And as Steve was saying in the video, you can see people bailing out of the aircraft.

Horrible.

And the rear end of the plane was on fire, so a bunch of people didn't make it out. A spokeswoman for Russia's investigative committee said early Monday that 41 people were killed. The numbers are kind of sketchy right now, but it's in that ballpark officials with the airports at the aircraft had 73 passengers and five crew members on board, so the majority of people didn't make it out of that.

It's terrible.

The flight was en route from Moscow to Murmansk in northwestern Russia when it was forced to turn back because of technical problems.

The airline said that the engines were burning after the aircraft landed, but the sequence of events before and after the fire started were not clear.

The SSJ-100 is largely used in Russia as a replacement for outdated Soviet-era aircraft, but also is used by airlines in other countries, including Armenia and Mexico.

And this is the second fatal accident involving the plane in 2012.

A demonstration flight in Indonesia struck a mountain killing all 45 aboard.

Investigators with the special victims unit are talking with the woman who they say left her toddler in Kensington Saturday morning.

Police are still investigating the circumstances around why the child was left there and have

not said what charges the woman will face, if any.
