Good morning. In the news this morning, a federal judge's decision to strike down the national

mask mandate

covering airlines and other public transportation Monday is having a ripple effect across the tri-state

areas, agencies respond. The ruling appeared to free operators to make their own decision

about mask requirements with several major airlines, American Delta JetBlue, Southwest and United,

all announcing that they would drop the mandates. The Biden administration said the rule would not be enforced while federal agencies decide how to

respond to the judge's order.

The CDC released a statement as a result of a court order effective immediately.

And as of April 18, 2022, the CDC's January 29th, 2021 order requiring masks on public

transportation conveyances at end of

transportation hubs is no longer in effect. Therefore, CDC will not enforce the order. The CDC

continues to recommend that people wear masks in indoor public transportation settings at this time.

The Association of Flight Attendance, the nation's largest union of Captain Cruz, has

recently taken a neutral position on the mask rule because its members are divided about the issue.

You know what I'm doing? I'm wearing half masks these days. I think, all right, so they may not

provide the protection, but they're sexy, I think. The federal ruling also came the day. Same

day, Philadelphia reinstated its indoor mask policy.

So there's basically mass confusion in the city right now.
