Good morning in the news this morning. Severe storms with high winds swept across southern New Jersey on Monday leaving damaged buildings and power outages in their wake. In Wildwood, New Jersey, there is now portions of the boardwalk that are torn up. A bench and a trash can were flipped over. The damage portion was roped off by caution tape in Cape May. Winds also damaged the historic Congress Hall. A portion of the roof was blown off and one of the columns was ripped down. Across the state, thousands of utility customers in New Jersey were without power Monday. In Summer's point, the roof of the all-action water sports was torn off as a result of the gusting winds. The boats and watercraft dealer has been in business for about 30 years. And the owner Raymond Leps said that he's

never seen anything like this, like this, but he's happy that no one got hurt. And he said that

they'll get up and running again. The National Weather Service issued high wind warnings for several

counties with steady winds of 25 to 40 miles per hour, expected in gusts 60 to 70 miles per hour.

But the wind gusts, they say, reached as high as 87 miles per hour.

Yeah, I believe it because they were showing footage, Kathy, on the news, and there's like a snowco station where one of the awnings completely devastated, destroyed.

Yeah, there's a farmhouse in the back end of my neighborhood, and we were driving by it to late in the afternoon when it was beautiful, actually, yesterday. It got to be a really nice day, but we saw a part of their roof on the barn. Really? It had been, I guess it was made a metalhead flipped up and folded over. And so they're going to have to get some serious repair work done. Yeah, we're looking, Steve, at that uh in the top that that convenience store that gas

station that's horrible man wow did you guys see the footage of that action sports uh roof coming

no i didn't i just saw the aftermath yeah it's crazy i mean there is a full blown footage of it

and you can see it all going down just completely rips off yeah i walked or walked past the cemetery yesterday, so it actually got sunny and was kind of nice yesterday evening, and we had been in all day. So I'm like, let's go out for a walk. So we went for a walk, and a lot of the tombstones past, we walked past the cemetery were knocked over. Wow. Yeah. They said roughly 25,000 utility customers were without power in

New Jersey yesterday. Now, there's a question of how to handle laundry of somebody exposed or

infected to COVID-19 and are laundromat safe if you need to go use one. If you're living with

someone who has a suspected or confirmed case of coronavirus. Consumer report says that there are

important safety precautions that you should be taking. First, keep any contaminated laundry in a

separate bin because we don't know how long the coronavirus can survive on clothes. But researchers

think it is possible that the virus may remain infectious on clothes for hours or even days.

When it's time to do the laundry, use disposable gloves if you have them and throw them away immediately after you finish.

If you don't have the gloves, when you're finished putting the dirty laundry in the washing machine,

make sure that you wash your own hands.
