Good morning. In the news this morning, Philadelphia police officers were involved in a shootout with a man and a woman in the city's Gray's Ferry section early Friday morning officials said the incident began around midnight on South Bailey Street near Dickinson Street. Police officers responded to the area after receiving reports of gunshots. According to investigators, two uniformed officers entered through an alleyway. After hearing,

there were people in the backyard. The officer said they saw a man and a woman outside of the home

on South Bailey Street, but seconds later, the woman began firing several shots at the officers.

Investigators say the officers returned fire and then chased the two into a house where they

were subsequently arrested.

The female was shot in the thigh and the male was shot in the abdomen.

Philadelphia Police Deputy Commissioner Melvin Singleton said, while inside officers observed the female throw a silver semi-automatic handgun under the kitchen table.

Police recovered that gun and then also found another semi-automatic handgun and a shotgun.

Police said both the officers involved in the incident were not injured. Again, with all the crap going on, this has to be going. They have to handle this. Right. And then this, Cruz in South Jersey were battling a raging forest fire on Thursday night. The fire broke out at about 5.30 in the evening in downtown ship, New Jersey near Dividing Creek and

Ackley Roads. The fire consumed roughly 1,000 acres and the blaze is still not under control.

Crews were trying to contain the fire by spreading an intentional fire line to cut off its fuel

supply. The wind yesterday evening was hampering the efforts to contain the blaze.

Officials say there's no threat to area homes and evacuations have not been ordered,

but it's still unclear how the fire started.

Pennsylvania schools will remain shuttered for the rest of the academic year because of the

coronavirus pandemic that has sickened thousands and caused hundreds of deaths statewide under an

order signed Thursday by the state's education secretary.

The extended shutdown offer affects more than 1.7 million students in public and private K-12 schools.

It means children will spend the rest of the year learning remotely.
