It was a poll, a survey that was done recently, and it's about sad songs.

It's about songs that have a more melancholy feel to them,

or flat out about breakups and things like that right and how actually

um a sad song can be a good thing for you to listen to i find it is i do too when i want to sort of have a

melodic commiseration like a like someone you feel a connection to what someone else has been going through.

You feel it's similar to perhaps to what you might be going through.

Or just like, I'm in this mood now.

I'm going to run with it for a while.

Yep.

So it was a survey that was done by 2,000 adults,

and they've come up with a list of the saddest songs of all time,

or at least of recent time.

And a couple of facts before going into some of the titles.

Just under half of survey respondents believe that a song can have a big impact on their mood.

48% said that.

Consequently, 36% opt for a sad song when they're feeling nostalgic,

while another 24% can't help but play their favorite somber tunes after a breakup.

Notably, however, a little bit of melancholy can actually help us turn the page as well.

Just under half respondents also admit that a sad song can kind of brighten their day.

Sad songs say so much. I knew you're going to say that. Wait, so you have a list of them? I do. Can I guess one? Because when this song came out, my friend called me, she goes, if you're having a bad day, don't listen to this. All right. Let me go through a couple other things here. And then, yes, I want to hear what, because I want to hear what all of you may have in mind as far as an ultimate sad song is. I like what you just said, though, about the application of it, what you will use. That's as different as the songs that you might like in this list are not like, how you employ sad songs to alter mood or reinforce a mood.
