In the news this morning, confirmed coronavirus cases shot past 1.2 million globally as the United States braces for the most challenging days ahead for many of its hardest hit cities.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health said Sunday 1,493 additional positive cases brings the state's total of COVID-19 patients to 11,510.

Of the patients who have tested positive to date, the age breakdown is as follows.

Nearly 1% are aged 0 to 4, 1% aged 5 to 12, and 1% age 13 to 18.

Nearly 8% are aged 19 to 24.

And then the highest percentage is the age is 25 to 49, and that's about 42% of the state's total.

Nearly 29% are aged 50 to 64, and then 65 and older are nearly 20%. 14% of the 695 nursing facilities in the state have tested at least one case of COVID-19. Health Secretary Rachel

Levine said the state is looking to hire a company that will act as a SWAT team to help nursing homes

struggling with infection control. As of Saturday afternoon, the state was reporting two deaths in

Berks County, 11 deaths in Bucks County, two in Chester, 13 in Delaware County, 17 deaths in Montgomery

County and 24, I'm sorry, 43 deaths now in Philadelphia.

Governor Phil Murphy announced Sunday that the number of positive COVID cases in New Jersey

has risen to at least 37,500, and there have been 917 deaths across the state. President Donald Trump has approved a disaster

declaration for the state of Delaware. Health officials reported a total of 673 cases of the

coronavirus and 14 have died from the virus. Lowe's announced last week that additional actions

are being made across the United States stores to further protect and provide for both the associates and customers during this unprecedented time. The announcement,
