Good morning in the news this morning.

A man's claim to be an Illinois boy who disappeared under tragic circumstances

eight years ago was disproved by DNA tests and pronounced a hoax Thursday, dashing hopes that the baffling case had finally been solved.

I actually had this coming up in the bizarre file because of the details are pretty wild, but it's not him.

Okay.

But it's even crazier.

You know, I mean, it was like out of the blue. Oh, my God, they finally found this guy. And now. And because the family is still searching. The family's still searching. And it's cruel. But you should go over those details because it's a really long case. And I just kind of did the overview of this guy who was saying that he was this child.

He's not.

The man identified by police as 23-year-old Brian Michael Rini of Medina, Ohio, told Cincinnati area investigators that he was Timothy Pitson and that he had just escaped from two kidnappers that had been holding him for seven years.

Authorities have not yet filed charges against Rini.

He was just released from an Ohio prison less than a month ago after serving more than a year for burglary and vandalism. So it is not this kid. Oh, man. And his family. Yeah. Well, you know. Well, that's a clever of hope, you know. And they said it just brought everything back up, you know. Had to have. Yes, the moment they hear that they may, they may have found him, I mean,

can you imagine, can you imagine all these years you've had this tragedy, but still maybe just

a glimmer of hope and then, oh, just that's terrible.

One thing they did say, however, though, is that, of course, it reignited interest in the

case.

So more people are now aware of the case, and perhaps that'll expedite.

Hopefully this guy's alive.

Police and FBI have said that they, you know, they've never closed the case.
