Good morning in the news this morning at St. Joe's University student who disappeared following a rugby tournament in Bermuda was found dead Monday after an intensive search of the British Island Territory. Searchers found the body of 19-year-old Mark Dumbroski at the base of a colonial-era fort in a park not far from where he was last seen walking by himself.

Investigators would not say how they believed he died but said that they are not ruling out foul play at this time. Forensic experts are still processing the scene where the body was found and an autopsy is planned. I know this park had been to Bermuda a number of times and it's, there's a lot of foot traffic around there. There's not, you know, it's not like it's a rural remote area. There's really not a lot of remote areas on Bermuda. But, yeah, I was surprised to see where they found him. He was a member of the rugby team at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia and had gone to Bermuda to compete in a tournament. He disappeared early Sunday with video footage showing him walking alone and looking at his phone as he left a bar where his friends had gathered.

He was found at the base of Fort Prospect in a wooded area known as the Arboretum and near an athletic center where the team had played during the tournament.

His family rushed to the island to join the search and retrace his steps.

We dearly love our son. We cherish our son. We want him back.

His mother said at a news conference with police officials. We thank the citizens of Bermuda. People have

been with us shoulder to shoulder throughout this ordeal. Detective Sergeant Jason Smith said

there's no evidence that Dumbroski was drunk or alcohol played a role in his disappearance.

His mother speculated that her son who had hurt his shoulder in the game that day wasn't feeling well and had simply wanted to call it a night.

She said the surveillance footage showed him favoring his one arm.

He wasn't in a celebratory kind of mood.

His mother said he wanted to get back.

The university issued the following statement Monday evening. The St. Joseph University community is heartbroken tonight to learn from the

Bermuda Police Services in Hamilton that student Mark Dombrovsky has died. We extend our deepest

sympathies to the family and along with Mark's teammates, classmates, and friends. And then they

also said, you know, obviously there'll be services for students who need it. Yeah, it's horrible. It's totally horrible. We were talking about it yesterday.

It goes down for, you know, an athletic event, and he's there with his team, and he's having a good time, and then it all goes south. Well, it's a parent's nightmare, too. You know, I mean, there's my my kids are planning some trips uh some school sponsored trips you know overseas this summer

and in other countries and you know you hope hope that they're going to be chaperone properly and that everything's going to be in place. I mean, these are older kids that we're talking about here and college and everything. Well, my nephew goes to Spain next week and he's a sophomore in high school. Yeah. Yeah, it's very sad. And, you know, you always think

he was leaving a bar. So I'm like, okay, well, did alcohol play a part? But they're saying, they don't think so. No, they say, seem to be fine. Obviously, they're going to have to do some medical, you know, follow up, and that'll hopefully help determine what happened, but it's, It's very mysterious.
