Good morning in the news this morning. A fire destroyed a building on the property of the historic Normandy Farm

Hotel in Montgomery County on Thursday night, but firefighters were able to save a couple's

wedding day. The call came in around 8 p.m. for a fire reported in the ceiling of the two-story

hotel located on the 1400 block of Morris Road in Blue Belt. Firefighters attacked the flames

at all angles as smoke billowed from the roof of the structure.

Normandy farm owner Bud Hanson says the fire tore through the nine-room guest house

that dates back to the 1800s and it's likely suffered a total loss.

Yeah. And so they have like hathie was saying there was a wedding that was there's a there's a big place to to have wedding receptions and things like that and i wasn't sure

which part of that complex it is so it's like i believe it's like over if you're looking from

um from two oh two i believe it's like over to the right and in the back, I think. And it's basically like a little mini hotel. So a lot of people that have weddings there, we'll have their wedding party and their guests stay there. There's a few different restaurants that were there over the years too, right? It was Coleman. Coleman's was great. Yeah. And then they switched names a few different times. but I always loved going to that place for her dinner. Yeah, been to a couple of weddings there. I believe our old intern Lizzie had her wedding. Okay. Yeah. Inside the building was a bride's wedding dress for her wedding day, which is today. So the firefighters were able to get the wedding parties, dresses, suits, luggage, and the money that they had for the wedding day out of the building.

Well, it's now a mini dress, but they say those.

Authorities are still working to determine what sparked the fire.

There were no injuries reported.

And the owner of Normandy Farm, Bud Hanson, he was saying that had it been another building, like it would have been a disaster or had her dress, you know, gone up in flames, but now they can pretty much hold the wedding as it's supposed to be. And they said that they're open for business. The restaurants are open and all of that. That's pretty awesome. Concerning the origins of the fire, did they talk to the groom to be?
