Good morning in the news this morning. Russian troops launched a wide-ranging attack on Ukraine on Thursday as

President Vladimir Putin cast aside international condemnation and sanctions and warned other

countries that any attempt to interfere would lead to consequences you have never seen.

Hours later, Ukraine's president announced he is severing diplomatic relations with Russia.

An advisor to Ukraine president, Vladimir Zelensky, said 40 people were killed so far.

Ukrainian border guards released footage of what they say were Russian military vehicles moving in,

and big explosions were heard in the capital.

As the Russian military claimed to have wiped out Ukraine's entire air defense in a matter of hours,

Ukrainians fled some cities and European

authorities declared Ukrainian airspace an active conflict zone. World leaders decried the start of

the long-anticipated invasion and far-reaching consequences as global financial markets plunged

and oil prices soared. President Joe Biden pledged new sanctions to punish Russia for the aggression that the international

community had expected for weeks but could not prevent through diplomacy. The president said

he planned to speak to Americans on Thursday after a meeting of the group of seven leaders.

More sanctions against Russia are expected to be announced today. Ben Salem Police charged

two men in connection with the brawl at the Golden Corral

Restaurant that happened in January. Hector-Rios Rodriguez of Florida and Alexis Rios of Trenton, New

Jersey faced charges of disorderly conduct. The fight broke out on January 28th at the chain

restaurant and the 1,400 block of Street Road. Talk about going from the macro to the micro
