And now, Preston and Steve's news update with Kathy Romano.

0:13.2

And today is the 14th day of February, also known as Valentine's Day.

0:19.2

Good morning, Kathy.

0:20.3

Good morning in the news this morning.

Philadelphia police are searching for a man accused of firing two shots at a security guard in Dilworth Park

0:26.7

next to City Hall Monday night. Investigator said a group refused to leave the area next to the ice rink at 1130 in the evening after the security guard told them that it was closed.

0:35.4

One of the males who appeared to be in his 30s actually started to argue with the security guard

0:40.8

and did not want to leave, said Chief Inspector Scott Small.

0:43.6

The security guard and the man got into a physical altercation and that's when the perpetrator pulled a gun and fired two shots at the security guard.

0:49.8

Police say the guard was wearing a uniform but was unarmed.

0:53.3

Both shots missed the guard, but one bullet

0:55.3

struck a window of a small cafe next to the ice rink. The listed closing time of Dilworth Park is 1 a.m.,

1:01.3

but the area around the ice rink and cafe where the group was located closes at 9 p.m. It's unclear

1:06.7

how the situation escalated into a physical altercation or how many people were with the accused shooter. Police said the man was last seen running down South Broad Street. Investigators said that they're reviewing surveillance video in the area. I know when I head out for a delightful evening, I always pack heat. Right? Yeah, we're going to go ice skating. Yeah. Take in the wonders of the city and enjoy what it all has to offer.

1:27.6

And then you bring your hand up. It's such a shame, though, because, like, that's such a nice little area. Even that little cafe that they have set up next to the ice rink. Like, that's a cool little place. If, you know, people are ice skating or even not just to go sit in there and have a drink, they serve food in there. It's great. Yeah. Idiots just ruined it. But Kathy, I mean, you do.

1:44.4

You're right, Steve.

1:45.3

You have to worry about somebody coming up and telling you that it's closed. Yeah. You really have to worry about that. They do. They have no other option but to shoot over their heads. Terrible. Even before the Eagles faced the Chiefs in Super Bowl 57, chaos was unfolding in North Philadelphia.

2:01.5

A group of people were caught on video going on a destructive rampage near Temple University.

2:07.2

They flipped one car and damaged several others on Monday night.

2:10.8

Police released images of nine people wanted in connection with the vandalism.

2:15.2

So in addition to the video of the car being flipped, which we've all seen, there was another video from the same crowd, and it shows young people damaging another car just a few feet away. Well, you can't just go into vandalism cold. You got to get into it a little bit and flex your muscles a little bit. So the owner of the car, not the one that was flipped, the other one, said that he saw a young woman standing on the hood of his car, so he went downstairs to tell her to get off, but he said he couldn't even get out his front door because there were so many people. Wow. Yeah. A photo shows just how many people packed in the area in the hours leading up to the big game. The roadway remained covered in trash, mostly beer cans and liquor bottles on Monday morning. Did you see that
