Good morning in the news this morning.

The Philadelphia Flyers' beloved mascot Gritty is under fire for allegedly assaulting a 13-year-old boy during a photo shoot, according to police.

What the f***? Philadelphia police said Wednesday that they are investigating the alleged physical assault, which happened at a season ticket holder meet and greet in November of 2019 at the Wells Fargo Center.

Chris Greenwell says his son waited in line for an hour to meet Gritty before the game. After the photo that they took, the 13-year-old tapped Gritty on the head, which prompted Gritty to lunge out of his chair and punch the boy in the back. The family said the teen was hit so hard. He required medical attention. In a statement, the Flyers organization said it took theation seriously and conducted a thorough investigation but found

nothing to support this claim. The family says the flyers offered them tickets and all you can drink

inside a bar at the Wells Fargo Center, but that's not what they wanted. They said that they wanted

an apology from the flyers and for them to cover the $300 medical bill. The family is so angry that

they are canceling their season tickets that they've had for years. In 2013, apparently this guy was a season ticket holder of the year. This is super weird. And I can't believe there's not video. I mean... Well, so apparently this guy's claiming... Now, he claims on Facebook that there is video, but the flyers are not releasing it. The flyers are saying there is no video. Okay. And he's not suing them, you know, which is an indication to me that it's, all he wants is is an apology and a medical bill paid. Yeah, he said that he has not, he's not hired a lawyer yet. What was the diagnosis of the injury? I think that they just checked the kid out. And I... I heard he was bruised. Yeah.

He had a bruise on his back.

So, but I was wondering what... I mean, who knows? You don't know what medical insurance is, but why was that $300? I don't know. Here's a couple things that I take from the story. Number one, and the story I heard on the news, how it plays out, I don't know. but he apparently tapped Gritty on the head a few times.

Got angry that the kid was hitting him on the head because sometimes, listen, like, when wearing headphones and if somebody taps the side of this headphone, it hurts.

It goes in your ear and it reverberates really, really loud and it actually hurts. Her old buddy John used to come in here and flick you on the ear. And we had to tell him, dude, don't do that. It hurts. So anyway, did Gritty freak out and hit this kid? I don't know. Or was Gritty joking around and pantomime.

Right, right, right.

And made a mistake because, you know, those guys flail around.
