All right, today is a Wednesday. It's the 18th day of January. Good morning, Kathy.

Good morning in the news this morning. A Lower Marion Township Police Officer will be facing disciplinary review in connection with a controversial traffic stop in which a woman was tased.

Lower Marion police said the officer was legally justified to deploy his taser, but they

acknowledged best practices to de-escalate or not used. Why do you make that sound?

Because I was just talking about this yesterday, because all I really heard or saw were the headlines.

Oh, you know, cop tases this woman, right? But then when you go, like the woman, this woman was tailgating somebody so, yeah. So bad that she got pulled over by a police officer. And, you know, like, maybe she was an a-hole. You know what I mean? Like maybe she was a, an uncompliant, you know, so like, so automatically we've got to figure that this cop is like, you know, you know, out of his mind and, you know, just, you know, unjustifiably tasing this woman. But like, you know, I want to see how it all plays out. It was tasing Tuesdays, though. It was a tasing Tuesday. It was a promotion. We have all been tailgated by somebody so bad that you're like, what is this person's problem?

This woman was tailgating somebody so bad that she got pulled over. Yeah, and then she wasn't doing what the officer asked, which is what led to all of it. I mean, I agree with the case. So on Tuesday, police released video of the January 8th traffic stop. Police said the incident began a mile down the road from the Wawa in Balak Kinwood when an officer tried to pull over chain Jordan for allegedly tailgating a pickup truck.

Jordan and the pickup driver pull over briefly and then they drive away again. Jordan then activates her hazards.

She also bypassed multiple locations to pull over before she proceeded to the

parking lot off of Rock Hill Road. The officer with his gun drawn and pointed down, engaged in a

roughly two-minute conversation where she allegedly wouldn't, where she allegedly wouldn't

provide her license or registration and instead asked for a supervisor to arrive. There's an unknown

risk here. You have the pursuit. You have noncompliance of the

occupant. You have an inability to see in her car. These are all concerning, said Captain Jean

Pasternak of the Lower Merion Police. Police said Jordan's Volvo had blacked out windows and she

wouldn't keep her window fully rolled down. But the department is acknowledging that the primary

officer could have de-escalated the situation

better by waiting for backup, using the vehicle's megaphone system to command the situation

and use less forceful language.
